Miami Trace Board of Education

Our school board is dedicated to fostering an environment where every student can achieve academic excellence and personal growth in a safe and supportive setting.

As elected representatives of our community, we are committed to making informed decisions that shape the future of our schools. Our responsibilities include:

  • Policy Development: Crafting and implementing policies that promote high educational standards and equity.
  • Budget Oversight: Ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support student learning and well-being.
  • Superintendent Supervision: Collaborating with and providing oversight for the Superintendent to ensure the district's strategic goals are met.
  • Curriculum and Instruction: Evaluating and approving curricula that meet the diverse needs of our students and prepare them for future success.
  • Facilities Management: Overseeing the maintenance and improvement of school facilities to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents, students, teachers, and community members to foster a collaborative educational community.

The Miami Trace Local School District Board of Education is dedicated to carrying out the Miami Trace Mission: To provide a quality education with opportunities and relationships which cultivates success.

Our school board is comprised of five individuals, each elected for four-year terms.  Board members are elected in November of odd-numbered years. Their terms of office are staggered to ensure continuity for the school district.

Participate

All are welcome to attend school board meetings.

Regular meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Meetings are usually held at the Miami Trace Central Office; however, some meetings are held in the school buildings throughout the year. Meeting dates, times, and locations are subject to change.

I wanted to get involved in the school system and try to make a difference.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO SERVE ON THE BOARD?

I’ve had Panther Pride since I was born in 1982! I wanted to give back to the community that raised me. My husband and I are both graduates, have a 2022 graduate, and two students in the district now. My connections are deep with the staff, faculty, and students. I want what is BEST for them and I will always put them first.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF ABOUT MIAMI TRACE LOCAL SCHOOLS?

Miami Trace represents so much from academics to the athletics programs. We work hard as a community to keep our standards high! I am excited to continue the great legacy of leaders at Miami Trace.
